The Dog in Health and Disease, Comprising the Various Modes of Breaking and Using Him for Hunting, Coursing, Shooting, Etc., And Including the Points or Characteristics of Toy Dogs, Stonehenge (J. H. Walsh). Published by Longmans, Green and Co., London, 1887. 8vo up to 9½” tall., 4th Edition. xvi + 432 pp., frontispiece and numerous text engravings. Quarter red pebbled leather over green textured boards; marbled end papers and edges; decorative gilt to spine with simple title: Stonehenge on The Dog.  Contents: Book I – The Natural History, Zoological Classification, and Varieties of the Dog; Book II – The Breeding, Rearing, Breaking, and Management of the Dog, In-Doors and Out; and Book III – The Diseases of the Dog and Their Treatment.  In very good condition: 1 cm spot front endpaper where marble top layer rubbed; name to title page and foxing to final page; webbing exposed between title and frontispiece although all pages holding tight. Boards have rubbing to edges and light shelf wear.
