Plates are mounted on recessed card mat with tissue guard and accompanied by a few leaves of text by Lydekker specific to the animal portrait. Brown buckram cloth with black ruled borders; front board with tan buckram panel with black borders, gilt corners and vignette of a lion in brown and gilt titles. Spine titles in gilt with gilt vignette of an antelope; top edge gilt. Hinges are weakened although all pages still well attached. An occasional thumb mark and light toning to endpapers and outer edges of text and mats (not affecting plate proper); no tears, folds or markings. Light wear to boards.
