Brown cloth boards with decorative borders and titles in gilt and black; front panel with several faces in profile stamped in gilt; yellow endpapers.  Book plate of Flora McCrea Eaton; Lady Eaton. Light rubbing to edges and heavy rubbing to head of spine; gilt remains bright and binding is firm. Contents have an occasional spot and otherwise in fine condition. A lovely copy of an early printing of this classic manual.

Flora McCrea Eaton; Lady Eaton (1880–1970) was the wife of Sir John Craig Eaton (1876-1922) a Canadian businessman and member of the prominent Eaton family.  Eaton was made a Knight Bachelor in recognition of his participation in the war effort; he and Lady Eaton were noted philanthropists.  003236 $180
