Alistair Macleod (1936-2014) was an esteemed Canadian academic and fiction writer who received many literary awards. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada and, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. . In 2002, The Herald of Glasgow described Mr. MacLeod as “one of the greatest living writers in English”; his work has now been translated into many foreign languages. A master of the short story, No Great Mischief was MacLeod’s first and only novel.
