George Clutesi (1905-1988) was a Tseshaht artist, actor and writer, as well as an expert on and ambassador for all Canadian First Nations culture. He became one of the first native people to write about First Nations legends and customs, formerly the realm of anthropologists and folklorists. He was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1973.
