Blue tweed cloth boards with gilt titles front. Boards have very light edge rubbing with a tiny loss of cloth midway spine and are otherwise fine. Very light ghost mark covers most of front free endpaper and otherwise, contents are in fine condition without tears, folds or markings. A lovely collectible copy.
Blue Homespun is a collection of 26 poems or sonnets divided into three sections: A Sonnet Series of French Canada (which includes title poem Blue Homespun), From A Walled Garden and Simples. Call was awarded the Quebec Literary Competition Award in 1924 for Blue Homespun. Frank Oliver Call (1878-1956) was a poet, travel writer and professor from Quebec. He is considered a key transitional figure in the evolution of Canadian poetry.
