Jack Whyte (1940-2021) was a Scottish-Canadian novelist of historical fiction; his several novels are sold around the world. Knights of the Black and White is the first book of three referred to as The Templar Trilogy. The trilogy spans a period of three centuries beginning in 1088. Each novel is complete in itself and is set apart by approximately one century in time, containing different characters, settings and events to tell the history of the Knights.
