This volume is in overall beautiful condition; all plates and text block in fine condition; boards and binding in fine condition with the exception of a discoloration along cloth spine; light loss of paper bottom right front board and light bumping to right bottom corner (see photo). Volume has 16 full colour tipped in plates by Francis Wheatley, R.A. 1747 – 1801. All plates are mounted on heavy stock grey paper and protected by tissue guards in fine condition. The “Thirteen Cries” are taken from the titles given to the paintings of London street sellers touting their wares e.g. “Sweet China Oranges”, “Strawberries, Scarlet Strawberries”. The 3 other plates are a variant “Hot Spice Gingerbread” and Portraits Of Mrs. Wheatley and Francis Wheatley. 14″ Tall. 001367
