Publisher’s promotional sent out prior to the public release of the book; signed and limited to 250 copies, this being copy 18. 8vo up to 9½” tall. Black cloth clamshell box with bookplate inside numbered and signed by Andrei Codrescu. Box contains the first 19 pages of the novel, printed to appear as an antique manuscript (including intentional creases and folds). Loose sheets are bound with a crimson ribbon. Publisher’s marketing sheet laid loose to bottom on case. Box has two black ribbon ties for closure. Contents are in fine condition; front board has small bump top right corner and very light scuffing to cloth.

The Blood Countess is based on the life of Codrescu’s real-life ancestor, Elizabeth Bathory, a sixteenth-century Hungarian countess who held reign of torture and murder. Andrei Codrescu is an award winning, Romanian-born American poet, novelist, essayist, screenwriter, and commentator for National Public Radio.
