Small 4to – over 9¾” – 12″ tall; 134pp. with six color plates, four double full page and three full page and black and white illustrations. Quarter burgundy over grey boards with gilt spine titles; grey paper jacket with small wood-cut illustration to front; housed in a clear acetate dustjacket. In fine, unread condition. A very scarce edition. Volumes 1-7 in this deluxe series is also available.

Contains two stories. The title story originally appeared in the magazine Weird Tales October 1933. The second story, Drums of Tombalku, was left as an untitled synopsis that was not published in Howard’s lifetime. The tale was finalized by L. Sprague de Camp and first published in the collection Conan the Adventurer, 1966.

Robert Ervin Howard was an American writer. He wrote pulp fiction in a diverse range of genres. He is well known for his character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery.
