James Lafayette Dickey (1923-1997), is widely regarded as one of the major mid-century American poets, known for his sweeping historical vision and eccentric poetic style. He is also known for Deliverance, his novel about four suburban men struggling to survive a canoe trip gone awry, which was made into a popular movie of the same title.
Marie Felicity Angel (1923–2010) was a British illustrator and calligrapher known for her book illustrations. Her works by have been shown at the Royal Academy in London and the Society of Designer Craftsmen and in solo exhibitions in America; both the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Harvard Library and The Hunt Institute hold examples of her work.
