Decorative green boards, both front and back; bevelled corners; gilt spine titles with original price of 3/6 to tail end. Tiny and faint inked name and date of 1857 near top edge of title page, otherwise, contents are in fine condition. Board edges have very light bumping and rubbing; binding is tight and square. This is a very early edition which had a run of 5000 copies; it predates the H.G. Bohn illustrated edition also published in 1852. A rare and pretty edition in very nice condition.
