Framfari was an Icelandic language newspaper published in a log printshop in Riverton, Manitoba, and was the first Icelandic newspaper in North America. It strove to inform the readership, educate the settlers in agricultural methods, foster a progressive attitude, and inspire loyalty among the early Icelandic settlers. It was only published for three years, and ceased publication on January 30, 1880 due to the internal divisions at the newspaper.
