Lewis Wharton MacKenzie (1940-), is a Canadian retired major general, author and media commentator. He commanded the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo during the disintegration of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. He is the recipient of the Vimy Award, which recognizes a Canadian who has made a significant and outstanding contribution to the defence and security of the nation and the preservation of its democratic values; In 2006, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada. In addition to Soldiers Made Me Look Good, Mackenzie is the author of Peacekeeper: Road to Sarajevo.
