Contents: Book IV is titled: Du Port Jackson a la Terre D’Arnheim inclusivement Retour en Europe. It details the period when Péron was zoologist on Baudin’s voyage and when he met Matthew Flinders at Encounter Bay in 1802. It describes in detail the expedition’s discoveries on Kangaroo Island, King Island, the coast of Western Australia and visits to Timor and South Africa. Book V is titled: Mémoires sur divers sujets. These are: “Memoir on Dysentery in Hot Countries and on the Use of Betel, by Mr. Péron”; “Memoir on the Temperature of the Sea, Either at the Surface or at Great Depths, by Mr. Péron”; “Note on the Habitat of Marine Animals, by Messrs. Péron and Lesueur”; “Note on the Vegetation of New Holland, by Mr. Leschenault”; “Fragment of a Memoir on the Art of Preserving Animals in Zoological Collections, by Messrs. Péron and Lesueur”; “General Overview of the English Colonies in the Southern Lands, in 1802, by Mr. Péron.” Following this is the Appendix, which reads: “The Historical Eulogy of F. Péron, by M.J.P.F. Deleuze.”
